APRIL 16, 2024 - TEMPORARY WATER SHUT OFF DUE TO MALFUNCTION

Dear Patrons:
AID has had to shut off water at the Deschutes River intake temporarily due to a malfunction at the debris screen located at the beginning of the piped section of the main canal. The mechanism that was designed to automatically clean debris from the screen on the pipe intake is not functioning properly. A build up of debris, pine needles, branches, etc., could result in water backing up and a breach of the canal. We have, therefore, shut the main canal gate at the river.
The manufacturer of the screen, and related equipment, has sent a technician, who will arrive later today, to make repairs. We will let you know as soon as possible when we will be able to resume putting water in the main canal.
