Subject: August 14th storage balance
We completed the 1st half August storage report this afternoon and as expected the natural flow from August 1 through August 14 was extremely low at 1003 CFS. Due to the low natural flow Arnold Irrigation District used up all but 137 AF of storage as of last night at 2400 hours, we anticipate Arnold Irrigation District will have used the remainder of their summer 2020 storage account by 5:00 PM today August 14th. Please have the headgate to the canal and the direct diversions shut off on or before 8:00 AM Saturday August 15th.
There are three possible scenarios that would allow Arnold Irrigation District to turn on during the remainder of the 2020 irrigation season. Either we need increased precipitation to increase the natural flow available, other senior districts decreasing their diversion rate or a required rate change such as the upcoming rate change on September 15th. We will be actively monitoring the natural flow for the remainder of the season and will notify the District of the flows for the remainder of the season storage reports.
